The Path to Graduation from Dramatic Truth

One of Dramatic Truth’s goals is to produce dancers with strong technique and a heart of worship. Wee Ballet through Ballet IIC students are placed according to age and development. In order to test into Ballet III, a Ballet IIC student must pass a physical technique test. As each dancer tests into the next level, the class requirements increase based on the difficulty of that level’s syllabus. In February of the year, students and their parents will meet with the teacher of their level to discuss and determine how the student is progressing.

The testing fee for physical tests is $20 per student per test. For the ballet written tests, each student will be loaned a DVD and a workbook to study for the test.

At the conclusion of level V, students may choose to graduate from Dramatic Truth.

Below please find the steps needed to qualify for graduation from the school beginning with Level III, assuming students have progressed through the Lower School. (Students may reduce their class load and transition to recreational at any time.)

Ballet IIIA and IIIB (age 11 and up)

Ballet IIIA and IIIB begin the intermediate level of work in the classroom. Pointe work and   Horton and Graham based modern techniques are introduced.company_rehearsal

Dramatic Truth II Trainee Company

Masq 11
The DT Trainee Company offers an opportunity for upper level students to broaden their performance experience, learning the tools needed for dance ministry. Level IV
and level V dancers are automatically eligible to participate, and Level IIIB may audition.  They meet once a week for two hours under a seasoned dancer putting together a repertoire of pieces to
minister throughout the city and at out of town venues during the school year.  Students are mentored as young professionals and have bible study once a month, preparing them to minister as soloists, audition for DT Ballet Theatre or any other ministry group the Lord may call them to.
