Musical Theatre

Introduces the basics of drama – storytelling, voice, ensemble, pantomime, character development, stage directions, and presentation. Focuses on movement, acting, vocalization, character development and presentation. Instruction in stage physicality, character movement and choreography will also be taught. Students will build confidence in portraying various character role.

Ages 8-13. No experience needed. 

Attire: Dance clothes, appropriate shoes.

Interested in being a musical theatre actor? Come learn the basics of storytelling in musicals! Discover the foundation of music, movement, and acting through vocal & movement warm-ups, preparation games, and ensemble building activities. Learn to “sing with your eyes”, “act out a song”, and the job of the “musical theatre emotional staircase”. On the last day of camp, students will perform a Broadway musical number for their parents. If you’d like to audition for a solo, prepare to sing Happy Birthday ‘a cappella’. On with the Show!
