Service Description
Ballet IIA An intermediate beginner level. Knowledge of the use of the correct muscles and complex coordination of arms, legs, and head come together for more fluid and complete movement while introducing new positions and movements. Ages 9-10. Three classes per week to perform. Girls: navy blue leotard and pink tights purchased at Dramatic Truth, pink leather ballet shoes purchased at any dance store. Boys: black tights, dance belt and black ballet shoes purchased at any dance store, and white under armor shirt purchased at any sports store. Ballet IIB An advanced beginner class. With basic body control mastered, these dancers are challenged with more jumping and turning, and begin to add a higher level of fluidity and power to their movement. Students must take an examination to progress out of Ballet IIB. A minimum of one year in this level is required for testing eligibility. Youth Variations is part of level IIB it puts ballet technique and training into practice. Touching on various classical ballets (Coppélia, Swan Lake, Sleeping Beauty, etc.), this class adds character elements and stylization into each student’s performance. The class encourages students to add their own personality and adapt the variations to work for them, giving them ownership in their dancing. Ages 10-12. Two ballet classes, one Youth Variation and one Beginning Jazz class to perform.
